Family Garage Door, LLC wins EmbroidMe’s “Pay it Forward” Contest

Family Garage Door, LLC “Pays it Forward” to Special Olympics Colorado

Family Garage Door has been involved with the Special Olympics Colorado since June 2017.  Family Garage Door is active with the athletes and staff, and they are committed to bringing inclusion of sports and employment to people with intellectual disabilities. The company’s Vice President, Brian Johnson, has been involved with the Special Olympics Colorado for several years serving as a coach, mentor and photographer for the organization’s events throughout the year.

The Special Olympics Colorado provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families and the community. As winners of EmbroidMe’s “Pay it Forward” contest, the Special Olympics Colorado has received 100 screen printed t-shirts, 100 reusable grocery totes and 100 water bottles to aide in their fundraising efforts. “We are so thankful to EmbroidMe and the Special Olympics Colorado’s coach and volunteer Brian Johnson for donating shirts, water bottles and bags for our Special Olympics Colorado athletes who are participating in our Athlete Leadership Program,” said Mindy Watrous, Special Olympics Colorado President and CEO. “Athletes in our program learn leadership skills to advocate in their schools and their communities for themselves, the Special Olympics and over 23,000 Special Olympics athletes in Colorado.”
